Meet Uncle Sam Bear. He has enlisted your students to find the missing information about the national symbols. Without this information, students from other countries cannot learn about the symbols important to us. Students will research one symbol and create a Photo Story with their buddies about the symbol.
The students jobs are described below:
Gather information about your assigned national symbol:
5th Grade buddies: Read, direct where to click without touching the mouse, and record kindergarten buddies answers on the national symbols recording sheet.
Kindergarten buddies: Listen or read with your buddy, move and click the mouse, choose 1 or 2 facts you learn from each website and tell them to your buddy to write down.
2. Create a Photo Story:
5th Grade buddies: draw or create pictures using Microsoft Publisher or paper and crayons. Ask teacher for help scanning pictures drawn. You will control the mouse through the creation of your Photo Story.
Kindergarten buddies: draw or help create pictures using Microsoft Publisher or paper. Prewrite 3-5 sentences about your symbol. Edit with your teacher. Assist 5th grade students with publishing your sentences on PhotoStory.
